Common Questions

Body Drainage, Answered

For most procedures, 48 hours is the earliest. Some surgeons prefer 72 hours; we'll follow your surgeon's instruction. If you're more than 48 hours post-op and haven't started drainage yet, it's not too late — come in as soon as you can.
Lymphatic drainage is the lightest-pressure modality in bodywork. Most clients describe it as the opposite of painful — a release rather than a push. If you're sore, we work around it.
Typical recovery protocols run 10 – 20 sessions over 12 – 16 weeks. We plan your cadence at the first visit and adjust based on how your body responds. You will never be booked into sessions you don't need.
Lymphatic drainage for post-operative cosmetic recovery is typically not insurance-covered. We can provide a receipt suitable for HSA/FSA submission. Some clients with medically necessary lymphedema may have coverage — contact us to discuss.
Yes, for post-operative body drainage we offer in-home visits within Greater Los Angeles for the first two weeks after surgery. Travel fee applies. Book via the contact page to coordinate.

Why Drainage After Surgery Isn't Optional

Educational content from Juanita's Instagram. Lymphatic massage supports the recovery experience and is not a substitute for the medical care your surgical team provides.

When you get surgery, you come and get your lymphatic massages. The goal is to make sure that you heal properly, you are progressing, that you don't have any complications.
